Saturday night I photographed Vivace which was a concert that celebrated young musicians from Utah Valley who were the winners of the state competitions, performing on a variety of instruments. I really enjoyed these very talented young musicians. If you'd like to see more and purchase prints click here.
1
Brady Bills started the show playing his guitar.
2
Verina Chen followed playing the piano.
3
Trevor Giles played the saxophone and was accompanied by Kalo Latu.
4
I hadn't ever seen a quartet on the piano and I enjoyed watching Allison Smilanich, Johnny Liao, Justin Taylor and Soo-Lin Ha play.
5
It was interesting watching them look at each other through the pianos coordinating amongst themselves the song.
6
Catherine Winters followed playing a very upbeat song on her flute.
7
8
Rebekah Willey played the violin.
9
The first quartet was exciting and I was as impressed with the second, which members were all under ten years old. Annie Lee, Jessie Zou, Jung-won Ha and Liam Wilder played Workin' on the Railroad.
10
Caroline Richards filled the theater with the beautiful sounds of her harp.
11
Catherine Ann Willey played the cello.
12
13
Melissa Otani-Jensen shared her very beautiful voice with all of us and sang Sposa Son Disprezzata a Italian opera song written in the 18th century.
14
Jim Lu played the piano masterfully.
15
The concert was concluded by another quartet.
